Deadliner is a study planner. Most of it runs entirely on your phone and needs no account and no internet connection. This page describes exactly what leaves your device, what does not, and why — in specifics rather than in general terms.
Your tasks, classes, deadlines, calendar, focus sessions, notes and files. None of it is uploaded, and there is no server-side copy of any of it. If you never make an account, Deadliner never sends anything anywhere.
An account is optional. It exists only for the parts of Deadliner that involve other people: squads, seeing who is working right now, and finding out when somebody accepts a class schedule you sent. If you do create one, this is the complete list of what is stored on our servers:

| Email address | Identifies your account and delivers password resets. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive whatever address that service gives us — including Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide yours. |
| Display name | Whatever you typed as your name. It is shown to people in your squads and to anyone you send a class to. You can leave it blank. |
| A random ID | A random number generated on your phone. It is not derived from your device and cannot identify your hardware. It is what lets a classmate's copy of the app recognise two links as coming from the same person. |
| Squads you are in | The squad's name, its invite code, and which accounts are members. |
| Focus status | While you are in a focus session: the class you are working on, which visual world you chose, and when the session ends. It carries an expiry and deletes itself. There is no history of your sessions on the server — that stays on your phone. |
| Class acceptances | If you accept a class schedule somebody sent you, we record that it happened and the class name, so the sender can see their link was used. |
That is the entire database. There is no table of your work, your hours, your grades or your habits, because the app does not send them.
Your squads can see when you start a focus session. You can turn that off at any time in Settings → appear at the fire. When it is off, no status is written at all — your squadmates see exactly what they would see for somebody who is not working. Deadliner never invents a status for you and there is no "last seen" anywhere in the app.
When you send a class to a classmate, the link contains the class name, its term dates, its meeting times and rooms, the dates from its syllabus, your random ID, and your display name if you set one. It never contains your tasks, your plans, your focus history or anything else from your semester.
You choose how that link travels — a message, an email, wherever you paste it. Anyone who has the link can open it, so treat it the way you would treat any link you send.
Nobody's data is sold, rented, or shared for advertising. There are no advertisers.
Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone, which is most of what Deadliner knows about you.
To delete a server account and everything attached to it — your profile, squad memberships, and any focus status — email support@dead-liner.com from the address on the account and it will be removed. You do not have to give a reason.
Deadliner is intended for students in higher education and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
